Leighton Meester to Vampire Diaries and Nina Dobrev to Gossip Girl? Let’s Make It Happen |
 |
Good news if you are a fan of Leighton Meester and Nina Dobrev: Their executive producer has promised to “work on” getting these real-life friends to guest star on each other’s CW shows.
Here’s what Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl executive producer Bob Levy tells me:
“I love that idea!” Levy said of having Nina guest star on Gossip Girl and Leighton guest star on Vampire Diaries some time in the future. The idea came up while I was chatting with Nina and Levy at a recent press event, and Levy said: “We’re gonna work on that. You have my word.”
Leighton and Nina became friends while shooting the upcoming big-screen movie The Roommate, set to come out later this year. And Nina told me she would jump at the chance to make a guest appearance on the Upper East Side. “Oh my god, I would love to be on Gossip Girl,” Nina said. “I feel like it’s hard to do because we’re both so busy. But I would love to, and I would for her to be on our show. Leighton would make a great vampire, I think!”
The hitch, of course, is working out the logistics, given that Vampire Diaries shoots in Atlanta and Gossip Girl shoots in New York. “The trick is tearing Nina away from Atlanta,” Levy explained. “She’s in almost every scene of every episode. So it’s hard scheduling-wise to work that out. But I love that pitch! Good pitch. We’re gonna work to make it happen.”
Nina and Leighton, I usually charge 10 percent commission in such cases, but in this case you can pay us fans with some good crossover TV!
Would you like to see Nina on Gossip and Leighton on TVD? Comment here so the higher-ups can hear you…

Be in Love Don’t Let Me Down with Leighton! |
 |
Want to be in a movie with Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw?
Screen Gems is filming the climactic scene of Love Don’t Let Me Down, a movie that stars Paltrow as an emotionally unstable country singer and McGraw as her manager, on Tuesday, Feb. 2 at Municipal Auditorium, 417 Fourth Ave. N.
The film folks are in need of an audience for a scene in which (spoiler alert) Paltrow wows the crowd with a stirring performance.
McGraw won’t likely be singing, but he will greet the crowd. And The Lost Trailers will play a set beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester and Garrett Hedlund (who starred with McGraw in 2004′s Friday Night Lights) will also be there, singing to pre-recorded tracks. Great American Country’s Storme Warren will serve as host, and Nashville-based charity Soles4Souls will be collecting shoes for distribution to Haiti.
What else? Well, admission is free. Extras must be at least 18 years of age. There’ll be a free shuttle from Lot R at LP Field. Doors at Municipal will open at 4 p.m., and extras are expected to be be able to stay until at 11 p.m. Producers are looking for 2,000–2,500 extras, and will admit people on a first-come, first-served basis.

Spoiler! |
 |
Beware of Gossip Girl Spoiler:
Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) are breaking up.
If you lurk on the right message boards, you’ve already heard this awful news, but I can tell you now that the rumors are true, confirmed and, well, killing me.
My sources at the CW aren’t even trying to make me feel better about this horrible twist. Insiders tell me, “It’s a bad, bad breakup.” Ugh!
Apparently, after almost a full season of near bliss between Upper East Side soul mates Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf, when the happy romantic scenes are finally snatched away from us, the culprit will be Chuck.
I’m told Chuck does “something horrible,” and that everyone is going hate him for it. (Oh, Charles, you were on your way to being the paterfamilias of Gossip Girl’s little gang, and now this! Betrayal and disappointment at every turn!)
Jack Bass (Desmond Harrington) is also implicated in the end of Chair, but of course, we’d expect nothing less from the likes of that villain.
No word yet on how long this relationshipocalypse will last, but apparently it begins unfolding in either episode 17 (“Inglourious Bassterds”) or episode 18 (“The Unblairable Lightness of Being”), both of which are set to air in mid-April.
