Did you know this blonde shade almost kept Leighton from landing that headbanded part on Gossip Girl? She’s known for her darker locks when shooting in New York, but she’s taking a West Coast break with her natural hair color. After all, there’s more than just the UES, as she’s working on an album and filming Date Night with Tina Fey and Steve Carell during her time off from the series. Busy lady.

An affectionate Leighton Meester held hands with her boyfriend Sebastian Stan at the Chloe party – and he kept his arm around her all night. The two danced to the music – Perry Farrell performed – and snapped pictures with their cell phones while smooching on the dancefloor.

Leighton Meester thinks ‘Gossip Girl’ is a bad influence on young women.

The actress is concerned the hit US TV show – which has been criticised for being too sexual for its audience – could have a negative impact on impressionable teenage viewers.

She explained: ‘Young girls shouldn’t do what we’re doing on the show. Young women shouldn’t follow the crowd. I’ve learned that this is the best way to get ahead.’

Leighton – who plays the feisty character Blair Waldorf in the popular show – has urged young people to have the confidence to make their own decisions in life.

She added to Britain’s OK! magazine: ‘If you’re just yourself, you can’t do any wrong because people will like you for who you are and you’ll become successful doing what you like to do. If you follow your heart, respect others and accept your imperfections, life’s a lot easier and more fun.’

Meanwhile, the star revealed she loves starring alongside Ed Westwick, who plays her on-screen love interest Chuck Bass.

She explained: ‘Ed Westwick is my favourite person to work with. It’s usually quite tough between Blair and Chuck, so when we get something more sensitive to play, it’s fun for us.’

Recent Rolling Stone cover girl and Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester is the latest cast member of the hit CW show to make the jump into music. The actress who plays queen bee Blair Waldorf signed with Universal Republic, and plans to release her debut album this fall. According to Billboard.com, Meester describes her sound as having an “electro-pop edge” and she’s already hit the studio with producers Polow Da Don, Harvey Mason Jr. and Spencer Nezey. “I’m thrilled to be welcomed into the Universal Republic fold,” Meester said in a statement. “Their reputation for nurturing artists combined with a willingness to break new ground makes it the ultimate environment for me to enjoy making music and explore my own creative boundaries.”
