Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester has described her forthcoming album as “the ultimate karaoke” soundtrack.

The aspiring singer-songwriter, who plays Blair Waldorf in the CW drama, told OK! that she is looking forward to people hearing her debut offering.

“It’s a mixture of different types of music,” she said. “It’s vibey and sexy and really fun and upbeat.

“I just love it. It’s the best. It’s like ultimate karaoke.”

Last year, the 22-year-old admitted that she found making music to be a more fulfilling “creative process” than acting.

“From beginning to end it’s yours and you make it,” she explained. “You can see the finished product…you’re there from start to finish when you are writing.”

• In between shooting Gossip Girl, a “very smiley” Leighton Meester grabbed a sweet treat – some gelato – with Wallace Shawn (her onscreen stepdad) at Quadronni in the Upper East Side.
